Rev. John Cedarleaf and Mrs Susen Berg. Susen was President of the Chapel by the Sea Board of Associates when Rev. John began his 3-year term here at our Chapel and she was among those who attended his last service yesterday. On behalf of a grateful community, we bid you Godspeed, dear John!
Our 11:00 worship service on Sunday, April 28th will be the last of this season. We sure hope you'll stop by and take this opportunity to bid farewell to Rev. John Cedarleaf as he completes his 3-year term at Captiva Chapel by the Sea. Our 2019-2020 season opens in November, as we welcome Rev. Larry Marshall to our Captiva community!

It's the last "Porch Party" of our 2018-2019 season. Here's your chance to come by and experience the wonderful open-house gatherings Reverend Cedarleaf introduced 3 seasons ago and also bid him farewell as, in accordance to our Chapel by-laws, this gem-of-a-friend's 3 year session will end on April 28th. Here on Captiva on Christmas eve, hymns were sung, prayerful voices heard and candles lit. Now, through January 5, 2019, our churchyard holiday lights remain illuminated to bask in the glow of the Christ Child's birth.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.

Johnny Jensen has been a welcome part of our Carol Sing since he was 6 years old. No longer our "Little Drummer Boy", we were thrilled this 14 year old island neighbor chose to move into his next chapter in our Captiva Chapel by the Sea community, by performing "White Christmas" at last Sunday's Carol Sing.
